 Total work experience of more than twenty-five years in the diversified development fields. Major field of expertise include climate resilient housing in coastal areas, low-cost housing for the urban poor, Water, Sanitation and hygiene (WASH), land and infrastructure development techniques (land readjustment and slum reconstruction), adolescent development, solid waste management, renewable energy etc.
 Served as an Associate Professor at the Architecture Department of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) during 2015 to 2017.
 Worked for UNICEF, UNDP, World Bank, International NGOs (CARE and Practical Action Bangladesh) in different capacities in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sierra- Leone and Timor-Leste.
 As a director of J. A. Architects Ltd., have been involved in different social architecture, planning, housing and infrastructure development initiatives since 2014. Recently, led a group of architects and engineers in developing the climate resilient housing for the eight coastal districts of Bangladesh supported by International Finance Corporation (IFC). Conducted extensive research in the coastal belt on housing patterns, typology, climate resilient building materials, indigenous knowledge and practices for durable housing construction etc. On behalf of J. A. Architects Ltd., Volunteered in slum reconstruction activities of Karail and Sattola slums of Dhaka city in 2016-17 after the devastating fire.

Responsible for:
Led the design team for restoration and renovation of a traditional house in coastal region of Bangladesh. From March 2023 -September 2023.
Led the Engineering and Architectural Design for PPCR Housing Microfinance Pilot, supported by International Finance Corporation (IFC), The World Bank Group. Led the design team to develop climate resilient housing proto-type options for the coastal areas of Bangladesh, December 2018-December 2021.
Responsible for:
A) Conduct research on the existing housing situation ( socio-economic condition of the coastal belt inhabitants, affordability for housing, housing types, indigenous climate resilient technology);
B) Consult with local house construction persons (Raj-mistiry, mesons etc.);
C) Conduct market survey for local building construction materials;
D) Develop low-cost affordable climate resilient housing solutions for the eight coastal districts;
E) Develop Bill of Quantity (BoQ) for different types of housing including retrofitting and structural strengthening; and
F) Prepare annual reports, communicate with the key stakeholders (IFC and BRAC) other international technical experts.

Lead a pro-bono group of architects and engineers for the development of reconstruction of fire affected slums (Karail and Saattola) slums upon request from Urban Development Program of BRAC and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). plan including site plan and cluster design for the fire affected community of Korail and Saattola slums. Dhaka city during December 2016 to April 2017.
Responsible for:
A) Conducted research on the existing condition (pre-fire) of slums;
B) Conduct community mapping with the fire affected slum (land) owners;
C) Support slum owners for the reconstruction, provide design (site plan and cluster plan) and
costing; and
D) Developed housing design guidelines/considerations for the housing reconstruction of slums.
Worked for the Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation(DSSC) and led architects and engineers to design and costing of Social services Centre of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). Responsibility includes design of a wide range of shelter schemes such as day-care centre for street children, home for the elderly people, night shelter, dropping Centre for the adolescents and public toilets, public kitchen for the street dwellers of Dhaka South City Corporation. December 2016 to April 2017.
